AUSTRALIA ZOO REHABILITATES SELDOM SEEN BANDICOOT |
|
With her classic long nose, big ears, and carnivorous teeth, this girl is nothing short of glamorous! The long nosed bandicoot is found along the east coast of Australia, including Tasmania. Although their status is secure, the long nosed bandicoot is seldom seen because of their shy nature. It forages at night for burrowing insects, digging into the soil with sharp little claws on their forepaws. Sadly, the long nosed bandicoot is no match for domestic animals, cats and dogs prey on them regularly. |
