With stacks of entertainment, a free sausage sizzle and awesome prizes to be won, there is no better way to spoil your dad on his special day.

Dads are an interesting species with very unique natural behaviours, all of which will be on display at Australia Zoo’s Father’s Day celebrations when it becomes the ultimate paradise for any kind of dad. You see, there are several different sub-species of dad. First there’s the “Fisherman Father”, a dad who loves to drop in a line, so Glasshouse Bait & Tackle has provided one of its best fishing rods and tackle boxes for one lucky dad to win the major prize draw.

Any “Daredevil Dad” will go ballistic with the opportunity to win a Sling Shot ride, bungee jump or 12 laps in a V8 Super School car. Crikey!

Some dads habituate the garage; motivated by their love of cars, the “Proud Papa” will no doubt be yearning for the chance to spend a whole day cruising the Coast in a classic Mustang convertible and if he wins the Waeco car fridge/freezer, he can just bung that one in the boot full of his favourite snacks and he’s set.

For the dad with a competitive edge, enter him into the bigger than big XBOX Challenge. Dads will be battling it out on the 5m by 7m Panasonic big screen in front of an audience of 5000 in the massive Crocoseum stadium to win an XBOX and V8 game of their own.

If he’s more skilful with his throwing arm than his game-playing thumbs, chuck him into the koala throwing competition (stuffed koalas of course – not real ones), where he could win some cool Crocodile Hunter gear.

All dads love to see their kids having a blast, so make that your motivation to pop into the zoo and enjoy all of the WildLIVE action with snakes, tigers, birds, crocs and more. Plus there are free rides, face painting, a colouring competition and all kinds of entertainment for the kids.

One common interest for the Dad species in general is a sausage sizzle – and even better, a free sausage sizzle. So, whichever sub-species of dad you call your own, take him down to Australia Zoo on Sunday 4 September for an absolute dad’s paradise and a great day out for the whole family.
