Have a regal day out at Australia Zoo on the Queen's Birthday
News source: Glasshouse Country News, Wednesday 7 June 2006
If you haven't already planned what to do with the kids next Monday, then what about a regal picnic and day out to the Zoo?
There are all the usual fun, games and excitement associated with an action-packed trip to the Zoo, however as part of their Queen's Birthday celebrations there is even more on offer. If you've got a right royal pain in the neck… maybe you're not sleeping well and you might want to enter the competition to WIN a brand new queen-sized bed!
It's definitely a prize fit for a queen, but there's a catch… you have to let a giant python slither into bed with you! (Don't worry, it's not a permanent arrangement.)
There'll be free rides including two jumping castles, a trampoline and a teacup ride, free face-painting and loads of entertainment. The kids can win an awesome Crocodile Hunter DVD prize pack in the colouring competition!
Be sure to take a bite of the Zoo's yummy royal muffins, and check out the Gubbi Gubbi dancers. And if you have always wanted to chat to the Queen, or would like to wish her happy birthday in person, you should look out for the Prince, Queen and Court Jester throughout the Zoo! The Zoo is open from 9:00am until 4:30pm so why not check out their website, which has the schedule for all the different shows and feeding times, and plan to fit as much in as possible.
