BINDI Irwin swapped crocodiles and snakes for gallons of green slime and small talk with Hollywood stars at the weekend’s Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards in Los Angeles.

The eight-year-old presented awards host, Justin Timberlake, with his prize for favourite male singer in front of a crowd of 12,000 people.

Earlier she had been firmly in the spotlight when she and mum Terri walked the red carpet into the event, which this year celebrated its 20th birthday.

Bindi appeared at last year’s Nickelodeon awards in Sydney, a month after her Crocodile Hunter dad Steve died.

This time around she was able to hand over the orange blimp statue to Justin Timberlake, who claimed he was too famous to be “slimed”, referring to the awards’ tradition of drenching a celebrity in green goo. But this year Bindi would have needed a heavy-duty raincoat and umbrella to stop her from being slimed as fire hoses sprayed the audience with goo.
