SHE may only be nine but Bindi Irwin can add runway model and international fashion designer to her already impressive resume.
Bindi was the star attraction at the world’s largest fashion trade show MAGIC, held yesterday in Las Vegas, strutting down the "crocwalk" in clothes from her Bindi International fashion line and with a snake around her neck.
Bindi, appearing just days before the anniversary of the death of her famous father, Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, is hoping to crack the $US34 billion ($41 billion) a year children’s clothing market in the US.
Wearing a yellow T-shirt and khaki camouflage shorts, Bindi appeared on stage inside the Las Vegas Convention Centre, where more than 10,000 fashion buyers from around the world have converged, with a 2m-long carpet python wrapped around her neck. She then paraded down the runway in front of a crowd of about 500.
The wildlife warrior was joined on the runway by other young models wearing the Bindi International spring/summer 2008 line, created by Queensland-based designers Melanie Finger and Palmina Martin.
