JIMMY Barnes has done some pretty wild things in his time but performing with crocodiles will be a first.

The legend of Aussie rock will join singing sweetheart Olivia Newton-John to perform at Australia Zoo's Crocoseum to celebrate the inaugural Steve Irwin Day on Thursday.

Terri Irwin said she was thrilled to have the two music legends help pay tribute to her late husband, who died on September 4 last year.

"It will be an unforgettable event and it is wonderful to have supporters such as Olivia Newton-John and Jimmy Barnes behind us for this awesome day," she said.

Bindi Irwin will join the line-up, performing three new songs, before she judges a khaki catwalk parade featuring members of the public donning Steve's signature outfit.

The day will also be recognised as Khaki Day - a major fundraiser for conservation charity Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors Worldwide.

Cricket legend Glenn McGrath and ironman champ Guy Leech will also be there on Thursday to promote environmental conservation.
